Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication (2FA) strengthens your account security by requiring two forms of identification: your password and a unique 6-digit code generated by your mobile device.
🛡️ Setting Up 2FA
Follow these steps to link your account to an authenticator app:
- Download an App: Install a mobile authenticator such as:
- Google Authenticator (iOS/Android)
- Microsoft Authenticator (iOS/Android)
- Authy (iOS/Android/Desktop)
- Scan QR Code: Within your app, select "Add Account" and scan the QR code displayed on the SpendCraft setup screen.
- Sync & Verify: Enter the 6-digit code currently shown in your app into SpendCraft to complete the link.
🔑 Signing In with 2FA
Once 2FA is enabled, your sign-in flow will include one additional step:
- Enter your Email and Password as usual.
- When prompted, open your authenticator app on your mobile device.
- Enter the 6-digit code displayed on your authenticator app.
- Click Verify to gain access.
Code Expiration
Each 2FA code is time-sensitive and valid for only 30 seconds. If the code expires before you submit it, wait for the app to generate a new one.
