Sources Overview

Before diving into the Sources module, let's understand the key terms:

  • Source — A connection to your spend data. This can be a cloud database, ERP system, or uploaded file containing your transaction data.
  • Connector — A pre-built integration that connects SpendCraft to your data system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Google Drive, etc.).
  • Fivetran — The data integration platform SpendCraft uses to securely connect to over 300+ cloud data sources and keep your data synchronized.
  • Local File — A CSV or Excel file uploaded directly from your computer containing spend data.
  • Column Mapping — The process of matching your source data columns to SpendCraft's standard spend fields (like Vendor Name, Invoice Amount, etc.).
  • Schema — The structure of your source data, including tables and columns available for import.
  • Sync — The process of pulling the latest data from your connected source into SpendCraft.
  • Sync Frequency — How often SpendCraft automatically pulls new data from your source (e.g., every 6 hours, daily, weekly).
  • Dataset — A processed collection of spend data created from one or more sources, ready for classification and analysis.
  • Destination — The SpendCraft database where your synced data is stored and processed.
  • SpendCraft Columns — The standardized column names SpendCraft uses internally (e.g., VendorName, InvAmount, InvDate).
  • Source Columns — The original column names from your data source before mapping.
